Mark Musumarra
Co-Founder
Mark has over 10 years of experience in trails and natural resource management. His passion for trail construction and maintenance began as a backcountry ranger on the slopes of Grandfather Mountain in 2009. He earned his B.S. in Recreation Management from Appalachian State University before serving as a State Park Ranger in both Texas and North Carolina.
In 2022, Mark co-founded Moosewood Elemental with his wife, Rachiel. His unique blend of government experience, trail expertise, and hands-on contracting skills give him a perspective few others can match. Having trained alongside master carpenters and stonemasons, Mark brings both technical precision and a deep love for the land to every project.
Rachiel Musumarra
Co-Founder
Rachiel brings a passion for people, integrity, and the Appalachian mountains she calls home. With over 14 years of professional experience in accounting and business operations, she ensures the company runs smoothly and efficiently. She holds a Master’s in Accounting from Gardner-Webb University and a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from Appalachian State University.
When she’s not helping clients or managing operations, you’ll find Rachiel hiking, homesteading, or playing fiddle music in the mountains she loves.
